It has been 25 years since the Chernobyl nuclear power plant had its melt down. This was the biggest nuclear meltdown in history of our planet. The town on the outskirts of the power plant, Pripyat has a very eerie feel to it and remains abandoned.
Enormous Crystal Cave - Naica, Mexico

The Naica Mine of the Mexican state of Chihuahua is a working mine that is best known for its extraordinary selenite crystals. The mine is owned and operated by Industrias Peñoles, a producer of lead, zinc and silver. These caverns were discovered during mining operations and contain crystals of selenite (gypsum) as large as 4 feet (1.2 m) in diameter and 50 feet (15 m) long.

I don't know what's more interesting: the fact that the largest cave was hidden from the world until 2009, or the fact that it has a small jungle and a fast moving river inside of it. Son Doong cave is located in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park of Vietnam.
Antonov 225 'Mriya' Largest Airplane in the World

The Antonov An-225 Mriya is a strategic airlift cargo aircraft, designed by the Antonov Design Bureau in the 1980s. It is the world's heaviest aircraft. The design, built in order to transport the Buran orbiter, was an enlargement of the successful An-124 Ruslan. The An-225's name, Mriya (Мрiя) means "Dream" (Inspiration) in Ukrainian.

Bogatyr Coal Mine - Highest Coal Production in the World

A strip coal mine “Bogatyr” had been built by 1969 in Ekibastuz, Kazakhstan. In 1985 it reached its highest annual production level – 56.8 million tons of coal. The strip mine of such a high production capacity has been built for the first time in the world and, because of this factor, in 1985 it was put into the Guinness Book of World Records.
